Uber will make you explain why you're giving a driver a bad rating

Ask any Above all driver for their biggest gripes plus ratings will very likely be close to the top of list. Now, Above all is trying to address some of its drivers’ biggest complaints about ratings.

The company introduced four updates in order to driver ratings that will make it harder for riders to give drivers bad ratings and make the process simpler to understand for both.

On the driver side, the biggest change is the fact that Uber passengers will no longer be able to provide drivers four stars or much less without explaining why they’re doing this. The change will go into impact “starting soon, ” according to Above all.

The change is meant to deal with one common complaint with motorists that don’t know why their ranking went down or what they should be performing better.

Uber will also begin taking into account when a bad rating might not actually be deserved.

Likewise, several Uber passengers don’t understand that everything less than a perfect five stars is recognized as “bad” under Uber’s rating program, as it brings a driver’s overall average down. Now, with the brand new changes, Uber will introduce a good in-app scale that defines exactly what each star means.  

Uber will also start taking into account when a poor rating may not actually be deserved. In case a rider frequently hands out rankings that are four stars or much less, then the company will throw all of them out so they no longer count in the direction of a driver’s average. The company may also discount bad ratings on account of elements like traffic of GPS issues.

Finally, the Uber application will start prompting users to provide rankings and reviews after each journey â€? something that’s been buried within the app in more recent updates.  

These updates are the latest move around in the company’s pledge to do more to maintain its drivers happy. Beginning with showing earlier this year, Uber has steadily folded out driver-focused updates meant to deal with common complaints and concerns. Various other changes have included making it simpler to decline rides and UberPool enhancements.

Ratings, however , have always been a sore spot for many motorists whose ability to work depends on preserving a certain rating. Now, Uber is definitely hoping these changes will go quite a distance toward fixing some of the biggest problems.
