Bergdahl, 31, had pleaded guilty to desertion and misbehavior before the enemy in October plus faced the possibility of life in jail. Â Instead, the judge, Army Col. Jeffery R. Nance, gave Bergdahl a dishonorable discharge, demoted your pet from sergeant to private plus ordered him to pay a $1, 000 fine each month for the following 10 months.
The controversial choice concludes a fraught episode within U. S. military history. Bergdahl had been captured by the Taliban hrs after leaving his post plus held captive by the Haqqani system, allies of the Taliban, for 5 years.  Several U. S. assistance members were injured searching for Bergdahl. Several critics claim that his actions resulted in the deaths of American soldiers but the prosecution did not provide proof of this. Former President Barack Obama was heavily criticized after investing five Taliban terrorists for the enthusiast in May 2014.
Trump was especially active on Twitter Friday, a day right after his account was temporarily deactivated by a rogue customer service employee. This individual lashed out at his previous rival Hillary Clinton for apparently rigging the Democratic primary towards Bernie Sanders and the Justice Division for not investigating Clinton. He furthermore promised to get revenge against ISIS after the group claimed credit for a terrorist attack in New York earlier recently.
But this is far from the first time Trump has attacked Bergdahl. He consistently calls Bergdahl a traitor and it has lamented many times in speeches like a presidential candidate that he couldnât merely be executed by firing team.
âIn the old days when we were strong and wise, weâd shoot a guy like that,â Trump said at a move on Nov. 9, 2015.
Trump even incorporated Bergdahl into their presidential candidacy announcement on 06 16, 2015 at Trump Tower system in New York. He pointed the particular Bergdahl exchange as evidence that will Obama âdoesnât have a clueâ and is âa bad negotiator.â
âHeâs the one that did Bergdahl. We get Bergdahl, they get five killer terrorists that everybody wanted over there,â Trump said. âWe get Bergdahl. We get a traitor. We get a no-good traitor, and they get the five people that they wanted for years, and those people are now back on the battlefield trying to kill us. Thatâs the negotiator we have.â
Trumpâs hatred of Bergdahl has also made many appearances upon social media:
President Obama developed VERY BAD precedent by giving over five Taliban prisoners in return for Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl. An additional U. S. loss!

Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl ought to face the death penalty to get desertion â? five brave troops died trying to bring him back again. U. S. has to get hard!

Bowe Bergdahl walked off the base after this individual was told not to. Solders passed away looking for him. U. S. should not have made the deal! PUNISHMENT?

Can you imagine investing five really bad enemies from the U. S. for the freedom associated with traitor Bergdahl. Just another bad offer!
