Phone makers like Apple, Search engines, and Samsung have mastered the ability of making desirable smartphones that command word premium prices. Â
But these kinds of are screwing up with the software big-time, and it is starting to look really embarrassing. When you are asking people to pony up $1, 000+ for a phone, these errors are inexcusable.
It seems like every other day there’s some new issue plaguing Google’s Pixel 2 plus 2 XL. At first it was color-shifting OLED screens and screen burn-in problems on the 2 XL. Â
Then there were audio clicking problems. On the Pixel 2, the notice LED doesn’t work even when the function is turned on. Â
People are usually reporting the oleophobic coating which is supposed to help resist fingerprint streaks on the displays are wearing away from unusually quick.
Personally, We have noticed the camera app often won’t turn on (it gets trapped on a black screen) until I actually reboot the phone.
Some individuals even received Pixel 2’s with no Android installed on them.
And now there’s multiple reports from the Google Assistant not working when Wireless bluetooth headphones are paired with the mobile phones and the edges of the screens getting unresponsive.
To be reasonable, these problems don’t plague all Pixel 2 and 2 XL phones (our review unit just has the color-shifting, which Google states is actually acceptable) and none of them single-handedly cripple them to the point where they’re useless or dangerous (thank god, decades a Note 7 repeat).
But there are now enough issues piling up within the daily that some people are challenging a recall. Google hasn’t caved yet and it’s even pledged to deal with some of these issues with software updates, yet is this what you should expect from a mobile phone that starts at $650 and it is supposed to offer the best Google equipment and software experience?
Hell no .
I expect this sort of quality from a budget phone. The $50 phone with Amazon advertisements. But not one that’s made of superior materials and is supposed to provide the ideal you’ll ever have with a mobile phone.
And these kinds of bugs normally are not exclusive to the Pixel 2’s. Apple’s iPhone 8, iPhone 8 In addition, and iPhone X have their personal set of Â problems that are equally as unpardonable.
A bug that causes the particular letter “I” to autocorrect in order to “A[?]”? How about a software glitch which is causing the iPhone X to stop addressing touch when it gets just a little little bit cold? Or reports of eco-friendly lines running down the side of the iPhone X’s?
Guys, that isn’t normal. Â
Apple’s been producing iPhones and developing iOS to get a decade. Google’s been crafting Google android for nearly as long and even though it’s just in its second year of -pixel releases, it’s not like the company is really a complete n00b at hardware.

The Essential Phone’s a beautiful titanium phone, but its digital cameras are a hot mess. Samsung released the Galaxy S8 without Bixby, the digital assistant it considered so crucial it has its own devoted button.
When this happens, clients have to wait for multiple patches to reach after launch to fix issues that should not have been there in the first place.
We’re so enamored by new equipment with edge-to-edge screens and thinner bezels that we’re starting to looking over the details â? the basic stuff that these businesses are tasked to get right. Â
I don’t have answers as to why these types of bugs keep slipping through. Apple company prides itself on how laser-focused it really is on hardware and software yet it’s dropping the ball. Â
I applaud these companies for hearing customers and pushing out software program updates to address issues that they disregarded, but they’re promising perfection and should be getting that (or some thing damn near close).
Still, it’s time to demand better through phone makers and hold all of them more accountable for releasing phones plus software updates that clearly have not been thoroughly tested. Â
I understand that Google and Apple are precious tech brands, but there’s no much better way to let them know it’s not okay in order to ship sub-par hardware and software program than by not giving them your cash.
Vote with your wallet simply by not buying pricey phones which are effectively broken. And if you have simply purchased a phone that is suffering from myriad problems, return it. Â
Another option: Voice your device’s issues on social media, Google’s -pixel User Community forum or Apple’s Assistance Communities, and Reddit. Phone manufacturers won’t be forced to reevaluate their requirements and improve them to meet customer opinions if they aren’t aware there are complications.
After all, we are paying more for our phones. “We’ll fix it later” isn’t acceptable. It will never be.
