Inventory for the OnePlus 5, the very best value for a premium Android cell phone, have reportedly dried up. All types of the phone are listed as sold-out on the company’s website, which could suggest a revamped model is coming.

According to a report through GizmoChina, OnePlus might be preparing to start the OnePlus 5T, a remodeled version of its 2017 flagship using a larger edge-to-edge display to better contend with phones like the iPhone X, Universe Note 8, and Google -pixel 2 .

It would seem unusual for a company to release an up-to-date version of its phone so shortly the OnePlus 5 released to rave reviews only 4 months ago but it would not be an unprecedented move.

Last year, OnePlus replaced the particular OnePlus 3 with the 3T less than 50 % a year after its release, plus it didn’t appear to hurt the company or even its bottom line.

When We asked OnePlus’s head of marketing and advertising Kyle Kiang why it was releasing the 3T so quickly following the 3, he told me the company’s little size and scrappiness means it will not need follow annual launch process. It launches new products when they may ready, and if that means it’s earlier than fans expect, then so whether it is.

The report claims the newest 5T might come with a larger 6-inch 18: 9 aspect ratio screen with curved edges. The screen’s resolution might also finally get an increase from 1, 920 x one, 080 to 2, 160 by 1, 080. That makes it higher-resolution screen than the OnePlus 5’s, but still in short supply of the crisper displays Samsung plus LG use in their flagship cell phones.

Not else is known concerning the purported 5T, except that it may resemble a Galaxy S8 along with slim bezels above and beneath the display:

Depending on the way you like your phones, that’s either incredibly flattering or disappointing.

When OnePlus launched the 3T, this included a slightly faster processor chip, better front-facing camera, and bigger battery. It’s possible a 5T can include improvements beyond the display screen. What’s likely to remain is the double camera system on the back, which usually enables Portrait mode like around the iPhone 8 Plus.

And if the 3T is any indicator, the 5T could also cost more. OnePlus built its brand allegiance along with premium design and specs along with affordable pricing, but it’s currently shown that it’s not against trekking prices with each new gadget. Even if you don’t like the higher pricing, OnePlus’ phones still usually cost 100s less than competitors. With Samsung plus Apple’s best phones now in the $1, 000 price range, OnePlus provides plenty of wiggle room between $500-$1, 000.

We’ve reached out in order to OnePlus for more information on the OnePlus 5’s out-of-stock status.
