Trump responds to Manafort charges by attacking 'Crooked Hillary'

President Trump tried to distance himself in the news Monday that Paul Manafort, his former campaign chairman, continues to be indicted by a federal grand tribunal on a dozen charges, including conspiracy theory against the U. S.

Trump suggested that the spotlight should be on Hillary Clinton, the campaign foe this individual vanquished almost a year ago.

“Sorry, but this is years ago, before Paul Manafort was part of the Trump campaign,” Overcome tweeted. “But why aren’t Crooked Hillary & the Dems the focus?????”

Trump added: “Also, there is NO COLLUSION!”

Manafort plus Rick Gates, Manafort’s former business enterprise partner, were charged with 12 counts â€? including conspiracy and income laundering â€? over a 10-year time period, 2006 through 2016. Manafort joined up with the Trump campaign in 03 2016 and was installed because chairman in June of that 12 months after Trump fired campaign administrator Corey Lewandowski.

The charges are classified as the first brought by Mueller since having been appointed in May to lead the analysis into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

Meanwhile, the Proper rights Department announced on Monday of which former Trump campaign adviser George Papadopolous pleaded guilty this month to false statements to FBI real estate agents about his contacts with Russians during the campaign. According to documents unveiled Monday by Mueller’s office, Papadopolous was arrested in July plus cooperated with federal officials into their investigation.

On Sunday, Trump dismissed off a series of tweets decrying typically the probe while insisting Republicans usually are united in drawing Clinton in it.

“The Dems are using this terrible (and bad for our country) Witch Hunt for evil politics, but the R’s are now fighting back like never before,” the president wrote. “There is so much GUILT by Democrats/Clinton, and now the facts are pouring out. DO SOMETHING!” he wrote.
