It looks like Snapchat is again upgrading its efforts to win over celebs and other influential users.
The company is testing a dedicated portion of its app to “Official Stories” from verified accounts. The test arrives just weeks after Snap had been reported to be deepening its attempts to verify more accounts, which includes popular influencers.
The check appears to have started showing up for a few users this week. Screenshots posted in order to Twitter show a new “Official Stories” header in the Stories Section of the particular Android app, directly underneath the “Recent Updates” section.
A spokesperson for Snap confirmed the test, stating they make regular tweaks to the Tales page to test new experiences.
The test comes just a few several weeks after Digiday reported that Click is slowly starting to expand the amount of verified accounts on its system to include influencers and other popular customers. Previously, Snap had been hesitant to create changes geared toward its most popular customers.
The company began silently verifying celebrity accounts in 2015, but the feature was limited to a little group including Justin Bieber and Kylie Jenner. The company later began appearance Official Stories in search earlier this year, yet had avoided extending many benefits to its non-celeb influencers till recently. Â
Now, amid the particular skyrocketing growth of Instagram Tales, it looks like Snap is beginning to finally warm up to the social media superstars who have long been frustrated with the industry¡¯s lack of support. Â
