Speedrunning record on 'GoldenEye 007' broken by gamer after 15 years

More than 20 years its launch, gamers are still trying to master GoldenEye 007 on Nintendo 64, using a recent influx of speedrunners seeking to play the game as fast as possible.

Many have tried to crack a long kept record by speedrunner Bryan Bosshardt on “Dam, ” the game’s first level.  

With a period of 53 seconds on the game’s lowest difficulty (Agent), many players have pondered if it was actually possible to go faster. 126 individuals are tied alongside Bosshardt’s record.  

But now, after 15 many years, that record has been broken simply by Australian speedrunner Karl Jobst, that clocked in with a run associated with 0: 52 on Sunday.  

The run was recorded on Twitch, complete with Jobst’s ecstatic reaction.

“I’m losing my mind… view it! ” an emotional Jobst stated.  

As Kotaku notes, the important thing to getting a quick time is getting as much boosts as you can and opening the particular gates on the level as fast as possible.

Jobst later revealed on Reddit that it took 250 hours associated with gameplay to get to his record. “I fucking clutched it! ” this individual wrote.
