Samsung has just released a pair of limited edition Star Wars POWERbotâ? vacuums that spend homage to the iconic franchise in the pretty awesome way. Available for pre-order starting Oct. 10, these Darth Vader and Stormtrooper robotic vacuum cleaners are poised to be the next desired item for any Star Wars extremely fan. (The vacuums will formally go on sale in early November. ) Lucky for you âand everyone that sits by me at Mashable â? ******) I was able to test them out out prior to release. Â
The best part about these vacuums? These people play music and talk, using important Star Wars phrases and sound clips. Check it out:
Thereâs been a novelty element to robot vacuums like the POWERbotâ? for the last few years, but with each design thatâs released we are propelled right into a future where itâs less regarding having “the cool new thingâ? and more about making our lives much better through technology. Thatâs definitely real of the Samsung POWERbotâ? That said, also, they are 100 percent “the cool brand new thing. “
These are the same powerful vacuums as the VR7000, except with the added Star Wars design. The POWERbotâ? VR7000 earned, and for good reason. Itâs chock filled with features, like a suction power capability of 10 watts and a 290mm-wide brush â? that’s 42 % larger than conventional 204mm brushes. Â
The vacuum includes CycloneForce technologies, which produces a centrifugal push that helps to circulate dust contaminants through an inner chamber while debris and dirt are sent to an outer holding chamber. The result is a bagless filter that will stays cleaner for longer and helps you to prevent clogging â? and is quick cleaning. Â
I took one of the vacuums home to check in my apartment for the weekend, plus was pretty impressed with exactly how well it cleaned. I have this particular weird 1-inch step from our living room into my kitchen also it could even climb/descend that with ease, as well as the edge cleaning technology meant it might take care of all those weird kitchen breadcrumbs that are otherwise hard to get.
A sensor on the top of the vacuum cleaner scans the room and then maps out there the space to calculate the most effective path, plus when it gets reduced on battery it automatically dates back to the docking station and can pick-up where it left off later on.
I had a challenging period getting the app to work, which in justness could be user error or might have something to do with the fact that I was testing out the item before it hit the market. Worth observing though that the vacuum can also be managed remotely using voice commands through Amazon Alexa. I don’t have a good Alexa (I know, I know) so I wasn’t able to test this particular out.
From the visual standpoint, there is a subtle beauty to the way these vacuums have already been designed. Both versions feature a shiny finish and play up the proven fact that the shape mimics the helmets used by Darth Vader and the Stormtroopers. If it wasnât a vacuum, it could nearly pass for a kind of semi-abstract artwork piece. Â
THE âSUPER FAN FACTORâ
Not since R2-D2 projected Little princess Leiaâs plea to Obi-Wan within A New Hope has a droid, I mean robotic vacuum, captured our heart this much. Iâve never experienced this kind of adoration about a vacuum just before. (And yes, I know how strange that sounds. ) But when I actually turned on the POWERbotâ? and it released into the iconic notes of the Star Wars Main Theme, I had in order to giggle with delight â? and a lot of of my coworkers did exactly the same.
In addition to the music, each editions have a string of capture phrases and other audio youâll listen to while they go about their company. For example , when the Darth Vader design is powered on, it makes the lightsaber sound. When the Stormtrooper begins to clean it says, “Let’s move. ” The best part though is by far Darthâs seemingly random heavy breathing.
Fans of the franchise had insight on the design to make sure it experienced authentic to the Star Wars local community â? and it certainly shows. Â
Not only are these claims a great vacuum, but itâs furthermore beautifully designed. What makes this version of the POWERbotâ? even cooler even though â? and worth the $699-$799 price tag â? is that these vacuum cleaners are truly designed for people who love Star Wars. It actually delivered a smile to my face to view a Stormtrooper vacuum my house. Â
So yes, in fact , these types of are the droids youâre searching for. (You had to know that was arriving, right? )
